Flight Sim Movies - Movies Released in 2009

Twilight of the Gods by Doktorkop

Twilight of the Gods by Doktorkop

Action Drama - January 2009
Made with: IL2 and CGI - January 2009

This is the first ever IL2 movie to successfully integrate CGI humans to produce a creative and engaging story. A moving story about Luftwaffe pilots in the closing period of WW2.  Even though the Luftwaffe had the awesome Me-262 "Schwalbe" turbojet fighter, they were facing insurmountable odds of Allied bombers and prop fighters.  This is the story of two of these pilots.

Jury Nomination for MachinExpo 2009.

Awarded the Golden OLEG for breakthrough achievement in the integration of animated humans into a flight sim movie and for a creative and engaging story.

ysydor and Humbug; If you'd have kept watching you'd realize that it was a fantasy sequence based on the propoganda spouted by the radio. All the special weapons scene almost put me off the video too until I realised they were meant as a visual to the radio propaganda and then it all made sense. Too bad you couldn't see past that. Your loss, it's one of the best flight sim movies I've seen.

I'm sure this is a good movie if you look past the bad voice acting but I was INSTANTLY put off by the Lerches at the beginning and lost all desire to keep watching. The Lerche is a FANTASY plane that didn't even make it past the planning stage. There is absolutely no reason for it to be in a serious movie.

Oh dear... One of the best movies I've ever seen. Damn good cut, camera, scene-choice etc, just great. But why DIDN'T they ask some germans to speak the roles?!? For me (obviously I'm german) the speeking put down the whole movie 3 levels (9->6 -own ranking-). It was wrong grammar, some fantasy-words, damn bad pronouncition. Ok, for someone who cannot speak a foreign language it is a good job (I suppose it was read from a script, written as it would be said). But you put so much work into the wonderful cinematic, unluckily you had no germans at hand to speak the roles... But why not? Just ask in a forum, make some test-recordings and choose the best. I'm sure there would be hundreds of wannabe's...

Amazing, I remember the first time I installed IL2, and now look at what it has become a part of.

Keep up the good work.
